1. Configuring Intercom Functions on an OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen


Description:

The purpose of this application is to provide detailed instructions on configuring intercom and paging functions between OmniTouch 7 touchscreens and supported door stations. The application will provide the following features:

  1. Touchscreen-to-Touchscreen Intercom

·         Any touchscreen will be able to call any other individual touchscreen and perform two-way communications. A proper scenario would be to use a touchscreen located in one area of the residence, to call a touchscreen in another area of the residence without announcing over all other touchscreens.

  1. Page a Group of Touchscreens

·         Any touchscreen will be able to call a specific group of touchscreens to make an announcement (one-way call). A proper scenario of this would be the homeowner paging everyone in the home to announce that it's dinner time.

  1. Door Station Call

·         When a door station is rung, it will notify a specific group of touchscreens with a preview of the door station's camera feed. If any of the touchscreens answers, it will establish a video call with that door station and stop ringing the other touchscreens.

·         OmniTouch 7 has to know if a door station is calling it and its make (2N or other door station), in order to display the video preview.

·         Multiple door stations will be supported.

Required Components:

  1. Omni Automation Controller: Omni LTe, Omni IIe, Omni Pro II, Lumina, and Lumina Pro (Note: automation controller must be running firmware version 3.9 or higher).
  2. OmniTouch7: touchscreens must be running firmware version 1.14 and Kernel 1.2 or higher.
  3. PC Access Software: must be running version 3.15.0.799 or higher.
  4. Compatible SIP Server: SIP server must support:
    • Extension Management
    • Ring Group / Hunt Group
    • Paging Group

Optional Components:

  1. Intercom Door Station – currently support for Leviton Door Station and Helios 2N


Device Configuration:

SIP Server

The following instructions are a general overview for configuring a SIP server:

  1. Set up the SIP server on the local network. A static IP address must be used.
  1. Create extensions for every touchscreen and door station.

    • Each extension requires a username and password. Any password may be used for each device, but they can all use the same password for simplicity.

    • Be sure that each extension has H.264 video support enabled.
  1. Create a ring group extension for all of the touchscreen extensions. This extension will be used by the door station(s).
  1. Create a paging group extension for all of the touchscreen extensions. This extension will be used to page all touchscreens from one of the touchscreens.

PC Access

**** CRITICAL NOTEbefore performing any of the following steps, use the “Check for Updates” feature in PC Access to obtain and install the latest updates for PC Access, the automation controller being used, and the OmniTouch 7 touchscreens. Failure to have all items properly updated will lead to unsatisfactory results.****   The OmniTouch7 update requires two separate firmware update to be applied, in this order using PC Access:

 

·         OmniTouch 7” Application Firmware 1.14

·         OmniTouch 7” Kernel 1.2

****You can verify that each update is successful by entering the setup screen and viewing the version numbers on the top left title bar.****


1. Open the controller’s PC Access file.

2. Click on Extended Setup and enter the following:

a.       SIP Server Address – enter in the IP Address assigned to the SIP server.

b.      SIP Server Port – this is the port configured in the SIP Server.

c.       SIP Page Group – this is the number created in the SIP server to page a group of extensions.


3. Click on OmniTouch 7 Screens and enter the following for each OmniTouch 7 (Note: only the fields required for door station integration are discussed here):

a.       ID – enter in the desired ID for each touchscreen installed.

b.      SIP Username – enter in the username created for the assigned extension in the SIP server.  CRITICAL NOTEWhen using a Zycoo SIP Server, this "must" be the extension number and not name of the extension.  When using an Epygi SIP Server, you must use the "user name" created for the extension.  If using another brand of SIP server, check with the manufacturer as some products are extension specific, whereas others require a user name.

c.       SIP Password – enter in the password created for the assigned extension in the SIP server.


4.Click on Sip Stations and add the following information for each SIP device (door station) that is not a touchscreen:

a.       To add a SIP Station, click on the green “+” in the icon bar.

b.      SIP Station Name – this should be a name that will identify itself to the touchscreens.

c.       Station Type – select the type of device (e.g. Helios 2n).

d.      Station Address – enter in the station’s IP Address or host name.

e.      SIP Username – enter in the username assigned by the SIP server for the station.


5. Once all of the above fields have been completed, establish a connection to the automation controller and Write the Extended Setup to the controller.

OmniTouch 7

1.    At each touchscreen installed, go into the internal Setup Configuration and set the Touchscreen ID to match the value set in the PC Access file.

2.    Press the SAVE & EXIT button.

3.    After rebooting, test the system.

****Note:  Anytime any changes are made to the settings described in the PC Access Configuration above, it is imperative that “all” of the OmniTouch 7 touchscreens be rebooted****

1.1. Configuring Leviton INDS1 Door Station for OmniTouch 7 Integration

Configuring the Leviton INDS1 Door Station for Intercom Applications

Introduction:

This application note provides details on configuring the Leviton INDS1 Door Station to be used in intercom applications with OmniTouch 7 touchscreens and a SIP server.

Requirements:

1.           -Leviton INDS1 Door Station

2.          -The Leviton OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen using Firmware Version 1.14 or higher with Kernel 1.2 or higher.

4.          -Compatible SIP Server (Epygi QX IP PBX or Zycoo U20/ZX20)

Configuration:

Open a browser and enter the IP address from the SIP Station to connect to the door station.

   

Enter in the User Name (default is admin) and Password (default is admin), and press Login.

  

The System Information page is displayed, which gives Device Information, Network, and SIP Phone Information.

  

To configure the network settings, select Network from the main menu, and then select Network from the context menu.

  

To select a static IP address (recommended), select Static from the Type drop down menu. Enter the desired static IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, Primary DNS and Secondary DNS for the local network.

When complete, click Save.

Configure SIP Settings to Make and Receive Calls:

1.       To configure the SIP settings of the Leviton Door Station, select Phone from the main menu, and then select SIP from the context menu.

  

2.       Set/Enter in the following:

a.       SIP Proxy / P2P Bridge:  enter the IP address of the SIP Server.

b.       SIP Service Domain: enter the IP address of the SIP Server.

c.       Display Name: enter the name of the door station as it will be displayed on the Touchscreen.

d.      Authentication Name & Phone Number: enter the SIP Registration Username previously assigned to the door station in the SIP Server IP Line Settings. CRITICAL NOTE: The Authentication Name is “only” required when using the Epygi SIP Server – no Authentication Name is required for a Zycoo SIP Server.

e.       Password: enter the SIP Registration Password previously assigned to the door station in the SIP Server IP Line Settings.

f.        Click on Save.

 

Configure Outgoing Call Settings:

1.       Click on Phone and then select Outgoing call.

2.       Direct Dial #: enter the extension number in the SIP server for the number to be called from the door station when the call button is pressed. The extension will most likely be assigned to a Ring Group in the SIP server to ring several extensions, including phones and the OmniTouch 7.

 

Configure the Leviton Door Station Relay:

  1.    Click on System and then select Digital Control.

2.       Door open command: enter a key sequence that will be used to unlock the door when calling from a phone.

 

 

1.2. Configuring Helios 2N Door Station for OmniTouch7 Integration


Helios 2N Configuration

1.   
1.  Open a browser, enter in the URL for the door station and hit Enter.
 
2.  Enter in the User Name (default is admin) and Password (default is 2n), and hit Login.
           
        
      
       

     
3.  Click on System and then Network.
 
4.   4.  Set/Enter in the following:

a.      Uncheck DHCP.

b.     Click on/Expand Manual Settings.

c.      Enter in the desired IP Address.

d.     Enter in the Subnet Mask.

e.     Enter in the Default Gateway.

f.       Enter in the Primary (and Secondary, if desired) DNS

g.      Click on Apply.
 
     


 
      5.  Click on Services (purple icon) and then select Phone.
 
      6.  Enter the following:

a.      Display Name – recommend using the name assigned to the extension created in the SIP server.

b.      Phone Number (ID) – this is the number assigned to the door station in the SIP server.

c.      Domain – enter in the network domain.

d.     Check the box for Registration enabled.

e.      Registrar Address – this is the IP Address for the SIP server

f.       Registrar Port – you can use the default value (5060).

g.      Click on the Video tab and insure that Codec 1 is set to H.264

h.      Click on Apply.


     

 
    
7. While still on the Services tab, go to HTTP API and make the following changes:
            a.   Set the Connection Type for Camera API to "Unsecure (TCP)" and the Authentication to None.
            b.   If the relay on the 2N will be used (must have license to use this feature), set the Switch API to "Unsecure (TCP)" and set the Authentication to None. For additional information on this application, please review Knowledgebas Article ID 1329.

    
7.      
8.  Click on Directory (blue icon) and select Users.
 
9.  Enter in the following:

a.      User Basic Information>>Name – Enter in the name of the door station set in the SIP server.

b.     User Phone Numbers>>Number 1>>Phone Number – enter in the number for the “Ring Group Extension” created in the SIP server.

c.      Click on Apply.
 
      

1.2.1. Utilizing the relay on a 2N Helios IP Vario

Discussion:

This application note demonstrates how to setup and configure the built-in relay on a Helios 2N door station for use from an OmniTouch 7 while on a call.  For the purposes of this demonstration, Leviton used the Helios 2N Vario.

This application note covers only the setup and configuration of the relay in the 2N.  Refer to Knowledgebase Article ID 1310 for additional details on configuring a 2N to work with an OmniTouch 7.  Note: In order to use the built-in relay, a license for the 2N must be purchased.

      Setup:

I     In the 2N settings, navigate to Services (purple box) > HTTP API > Services Tab. Ensure that the switch API is enabled, connection type is set to Unsecure, and None is selected for Authentication.

     

N   Next, navigate to Hardware (gray box) > Swicthes > Switch Tab (it can be any of the 4 swicth tabs). Set the Swicth Mode to Monostable and set its duration to the desired timeframe in seconds. For Controlled Output, set the relay you wish to trigger.

      

Go to SIP Stations in PC Access and find the station you wish to control. For the Activate Swicth field, select the number that matches the Switch Tab’s number you configured in step 2 (see below).

      

S    Save the configuration, write the settings to your controller, and reboot all touchscreens.  Try making a call from the door station, answer from one of the touchscreens, and you should see an Activate button on the call screen. Pressing it should trigger the door station’s relay.

 

1.3. Configuring Zycoo ZX20 SIP Server for OmniTouch7 Integration

Configuring a Zycoo ZX20
 
To configure the Zycoo ZX20 to work with the Leviton S&A Door Station application, take the following steps:
 
1.      Open a browser, type in the URL of the Zycoo ZX20 and hit Enter. 
 
       

2.      Enter in the User Name and Password (the default is admin for both), and hit enter. The main menu will display
 
     

3.      Click on System, then Network and Country and set the following “required” items:
 
      a.      IP Assign – this must be set to Static
      b.     IP Address
      c.      Subnet Mask
      d.     Default Gateway
      e.     Click on Activate Changes
 
       
 
4.      Click on Basic, then click on Extensions.
 
      
 
5.      Create extensions for every touchscreen and door station and set the following parameters:
 
      a.      Click on Create New User to add a touchscreen extension.
      b.     Each extension requires a username and password. Any password may be used for each device, but they can all use the same password for simplicity.  CRITICAL NOTE: The Name field is nothing more than a label and is not to be confused with a "user name" when                      configuring a touchscreen in PC Access.
      c.      Check the ALAW, ULAW, and G.729 Audio Codecs.
      d.     Be sure that each extension has H.264 video support enabled.
      e.     When finished, click on Save and then Activate Changes.
 
      
 
6.      Create a ring group extension (this extension will be used by the door stations) for all of the touchscreen extensions:
 
      a.      Click on Inbound Control and then Ring Groups.
      b.     Click on New Ring Group and then enter a name for the group and add all of the desired extensions to the group.  (CRITICAL NOTE: DO NOT add any door station extensions to this group.)
      c.   When finished click on Save and then Activate Changes.
 
     
 
           
 
7.      Create a paging group extension (this extension will be used to page all touchscreens from one of the touchscreens) for all of the touchscreen extensions by:
 
      a.      Click on Advanced and then select Paging and Intercom.
      b.     Click on Add Paging Group.
      c.      Enter in a Paging Extension.
      d.     Enter in a Description for the paging group.
      e.     Add the extensions you want to be a part of the paging group.
      f.       When finished, click on Save and then Activate Changes.
 
        
 
         
 
8.      Once finished with the above, go back to the Home screen and click on the Reboot button.

1.4. Configuring Zycoo U20 SIP Server for OmniTouch7 Integration

To configure the Zycoo U20, take the following steps:

1.       Open a browser, type in the URL of the Zycoo ZX20 and hit Enter.


2.      Enter in the User Name and Password (the default is admin for both), and hit enter. This will display the main menu similar to below:


3.       Click on Network Settings, then Network, and set the following “required” items:

a.       IP Assign – this must be set to Static

b.       IP Address

c.       Subnet Mask

d.       Default Gateway

e.       When complete, click on Save.




4.       Click on Basic, then click on Extensions.



5.       Create extensions for every touchscreen and door station and set the following parameters:

a.       Click on New User to add a touchscreen extension.

b.       Each extension requires a username and password. Any password may be used for each device, but they can all use the same password for simplicity. CRITICAL NOTE: The Name field is nothing more than a label and is not to be confused with a “user name” when configuring the touchscreen in PC Access later.

c.       Check the box for Video Call.

d.       Check the H.264 box to enable video support.

e.       When finished, click on Save.




6.       Create a ring group extension (this extension will be used by the door stations) for all of the touchscreen extensions:

a.       Click on Inbound Control and then Ring Groups.

b.       Click on New Ring Group and then enter a name for the group and add all of the desired extensions to the group. (CRITICAL NOTE: DO NOT add any door station extensions to this group.) When finished click on Save.




7.       Create a paging group extension (this extension will be used to page all touchscreens from one of the touchscreens)) for all of the touchscreen extensions by:

a.       Click on Advanced and then select Paging and Intercom.

b.       Click on Add Paging Group.

c.       Enter in a Paging Extension.

d.       Enter in a Description for the paging group.

e.       Add the extensions you want to be a part of the paging group.

f.        When finished, click on Save.





8.       Once finished with the above, go to System, then Reset & Reboot, and select the Reboot button.


1.5. Configuring the Epygi Quadro 2X2

Set up the Epygi Quadro 2X2 SIP Server, with the approach that it is a 4-part process:

PART 1 - Configure the unit to the desired IP Address for the LAN it will be connected to.  From the factory, the Epygi SIP Server has a static IP assignment – 172.30.0.1, so in testing, we found that the best way to access and change the IP Address initially, was to perform the following steps (NOTE: This is assuming that the local LAN being used is not of a similar configuration.):

1.      Using a standard network patch cable, connect the Epygi to the local network using the LAN connection on the back of the Epygi.

2.      Connect the PC being used for configure of the Epygi, to the same network using a standard patch cable.

3.      Enter the PC’s Ethernet Adapter properties and set the Connection Type to Manual.

4.      Set the IP Address for the adapter to something similar to the Epygi – we used 172.30.0.100

5.      Set the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0

6.      Apply, Save, and then close the adapter’s properties.

7.      Open a browser and enter in the IP Address of the Epygi – 172.30.0.1
 
       
      
      
8.      Enter in the default User Name (admin) and Password (19) and click on Login.
 
9.      Click on System and select “Internet Configuration Wizard”.
 
      

10.  Click on Next.

11.  Leave the default “Ethernet” bulleted and click on Next.
 
            
      
12.  Bullet “Assign Manually” and enter in the desired IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway.  When finished, click on Next.
 
            
13.  For MAC Address Assignment, you can use the default, “This device”, or enter in a User Defined.  When finished, click on Next.
 
      
 
14.  Leave the DNS Settings as default for now, and click on Next.

      
 
15.  On the Summary Page, click on Finish.
 
 
        
    
16.  The Epygi will begin making the changes and initializing the Rollback feature.  When complete, a Confirm Settings page will appear – click on OK.  NOTE:  At this time, you will likely lose connection to the Epygi.

      
 

17.  On the PC, go back into the Ethernet Adapter’s properties and reset the Connection type to DHCP and reboot the PC.

18.  Move the patch from the LAN port, to the WAN port connection on the Epygi.

19.  Open a browser, type in the Epygi’s new IP Address and Login to the Epygi.

 
 
PART 2 – Adding Extensions (touchscreens and door stations). To set up extensions:
  1. Click on Users and select “Extensions Management” – the Choose Extensions Length page will appear,      similar to below.  Make the desired changes and click on Save.  Note:  For purposes of demonstration, we:

a.      Bulleted Change Length.

b.     Set Extension Length to 4

c.      Set Extension Prefix to 60.

         2.    A “Choose Extensions Length WARNING” will display – click on Yes.  This will cause the Epygi to reboot.
               
               
               
         3.   After the reboot has completed (info LED on Epygi solid green), login again and go back to Users>>Extensions Management.
         
         4.  Check the boxes for the extensions you will be using and then click on Edit.
               
               
         5.  Click on “Codec Settings”.
         
               
         6.  Check the “Select to modify fields” box, as well as G.711u, G711a, G.729a, and H.264 boxes, and then click on Save – this will bring you back to the Extensions Management page.
 
               
               

         7.  Check the box for one of the extensions you added and click on Edit.

               

         8.  Under “General Settings”, enter in the following:

a.      Desired Display Name

b.     When finished, click on Save.


         9.  Click on “Line Settings” and set the following:

a.      Bullet SIP Phone

b.     Set “Phone Model” to Other

c.      Username – you can use the default or set your own.  CRITICAL NOTE: This is the user name and password (below) required when configuring the touchscreen in PC Access.

d.     Password – enter in your desired password or click on Generate Password and select one.

e.     When finished, click on Save.


         10.  Repeat Steps 7 through 9 for each of the remaining extensions that have been added.



PART 3 – Create a Ring Group.

         1.  From the Users>>Extensions Management menu, click on Add.

         2.  Type in a new extension number, leave the Type set to User Extension, and click on Save.

               
         3.  On the General Settings page, enter in Ring Group (or other name as desired), and click on Save.

               

         4.  Click on “Go To Codec Settings” and check the following:

a.      Under Audio Codecs, confirm that G.711u, G.711a, and G.729a are enabled – if they are not, click on the check box for each.

b.     Under “Video Codecs”, check the box for H.264.

c.      Click on the Enable/Disable link at the top.

d.     Click on Save – verify that the selections show as Enabled.

e.     Click on Back
 

         5.  Click on “Go To User Settings” and perform the following:

a.      Click on “Supplementary Services” and select  “Caller ID Based Services”.

b.     Click on “Any Address”.

c.      Check the box for “Enable Service”

d.     Check the boxes for all of your desired extensions (touchscreens).  CRITICAL NOTE:  DO NOT CHECK THE BOXES FOR ANY DOOR STATIONS.

e.     Click on the “Enable/Disable” link and confirm that your choices have been enabled.

f.       Click on Save.

g.      Click on the Back button until you return to the Extensions Management page.

         
         
          


PART 4 – Create a Paging Group

         1.  From the Users>>Extensions Management page, click on Add.

         2.  Type in a new extension number.

         3.  Change the Type to “Paging Group” and click on Save.

         
         4.  Under General Settings, type in Paging Group (or other identifying name) and click on Save.

             

         5.  Click on “Go To Codec Settings” and check the following:

a.      Under Audio Codecs, confirm that G.711u, G.711a, and G.729a are enabled – if they are not, click on the check box for each.

b.     Click on the Enable/Disable link at the top.

c.      Click on Back

d.     Click on “Edit Paging Group”.

e.     Check the boxes for the extensions you want to be in the paging group and click on the Enable/Disable link. CRITICAL NOTE:  DO NOT CHECK THE BOXES FOR ANY DOOR STATIONS.

f.       Confirm the extensions are enabled and click on Back.

      
   
At this point, you have completed the configuration and can logout of the SIP server.


1.6. Configuring the Epygi QX IP PBX for use with Leviton OmniTouch 7 Touchscreens and Leviton INDSI Door Stations

Configuring the Epygi QX IP PBX for use with Leviton OmniTouch 7 Touchscreens

and Leviton INDSI Door Stations

Introduction:

The Leviton home automation solution, featuring the powerful OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen, can be configured with an Epygi IP PBX to offer paging and door station control when used with a door station, such as the Leviton INDS1. Once configured, the solution will offer the following scenario possibilities:

  1. Calling directly from an OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen to a single device or multiple devices in a ring group, such as phones, door stations or other OmniTouch 7 Touchscreens. If the called device supports video, the OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen will see the video from the called device.From the door station, a call can be placed to a group of devices, such as phones, door stations or several OmniTouch 7 Touchscreens. If the called device supports video, the door station video feed will be seen.

  2. On the OmniTouch 7 Touchscreens, the video is seen even prior to answer. Using the keypad from the device that answered the call, door access can be granted by pressing a digit(s) to unlock the door control. If the call is answered by the OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen, an activation key is available to operate the door relay.

Requirements:

The following components are required:

1.      Epygi QX IP PBX: QX200 IP PBX (QX50 and QX2000 are also compatible) software version 6.1.5 or higher.

2.      The Leviton OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen using software version 1.14 or higher.

3.      For configuring the Leviton devices Dealer PC Access using software version 3.15.0.803 or higher.

4.      Omni pro II using software version 3.14A or higher.

5.      Leviton INDS1 Door Station

Configuring the Epygi IP PBX:

 

Since the Epygi has a built-in firewall and DHCP server, the system has a WAN port as well as a LAN port. The WAN port can be used to connect to an existing private network or even to a public network. By default, the WAN port will receive an IP address if connected to a local network with a DHCP server. The LAN port can be used as the DHCP server for the network. By default, the LAN DHCP server will be disabled. 

In this configuration guide, the details provided are for a network that has an existing router that will also be the DHCP server on the network. The Epygi IP PBX, the Leviton INDS1 door station and the Leviton OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen will all be connected to have an IP from the network DHCP server. See figure 1 for the network configuration.

The Epygi IP PBX WAN port can also be connected directly to the internet and serve as the DHCP server for the local network (Figure 2). In this case the OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen, Leviton INDS1, and IP phones would be connected to the Epygi IP PBX LAN port.

To connect to the LAN IP address of the system (172.30.0.1) you will need to set a static IP address on your PC to be in the same subnet (e.g. 172.30.0.100):

   1.       Using a standard network patch cable, connect the Epygi WAN to the local network.

2.       Using a second network patch cable, connect the PC being using to configure the system to the LAN port of the Epygi.

3.       Change the PC’s ethernet adapter settings to have a static IP address (e.g. 172.30.0.100) to be in the same subnet as the Epygi.

4.       Open a browser and connect to the Epygi LAN using 172.30.0.1.

 

 



5.       Enter the default Username (admin) and Password (19) and click Log In.

6.       Click Setup -Basic Setup and select System (LAN) to start the System Configuration Wizard.

7.       If needed, change the LAN IP address or leave at the default of 172.30.0.1 and enable the DHCP server to provide IP addresses on the LAN. Enabling the DHCP server would be needed for the optional configuration, Figure 2.

 


 

8.       Click Finish to begin making the changes and initializing the rollback feature. When complete a Confirm Settings page will appear- click on Ok. If you changed the IP address of the LAN port, you will not see the confirmation page until you reconnect using the new IP. You have 20 minutes to confirm the settings or it will roll back to the previous settings

9.       Before configuring the WAN IP you can check to see if the system has already received an IP by going to the Status – System Status – Network menu. The settings displayed may be helpful before proceeding to the next steps of assigning a static IP. Click Setup -Basic Setup and select Internet (WAN) to start the Internet Configuration Wizard.

a.       Assign the system WAN port to a static IP address, subnet mask and default gateway. The fixed name server (DNS server) is only needed if a DNS server is available for the network.

b.      Click Finish to finalize the changes. 

c.       At this point you would be able to login to the Epygi by connecting via the WAN or LAN IP address after resetting your PC adapter connection settings back to DHCP.

10.   For using the optional configuration (figure 2), go to Interfaces, IP Lines, IP Line Settings and change the setting “Configure IP phones from:”, set to LAN. Pressing Save will require a reboot of the unit to update this setting. Changing this setting will allow the Epygi to provide the proper interface IP address to the devices being configured by the system.

 

Add Extensions for IP phones, Touchscreens and Door Stations

1.       Click Extensions – Extensions and press Save to leave at the default of three-digit extension numbering.   Extensions can be deleted and re-added later if needed. The extensions management page is shown (Figure 3). Each extension has been assigned to either an FXS port or an IP Line. The IP phones, Touchscreens and door stations will be configured to the extensions with the IP Lines. If needed, an IP Line can be re-assigned from one extension to another extension. In the example below, if extension 102 will be used for a door station the Attached Line will need to be changed from FXS 1 to an IP Line.

2.       Check the box beside all of the extensions that will be used (touchscreens, IP phones, door stations) and click Edit.

3.       Click on Codec Settings and put a check beside the modify fields, G.711u, G.729a and H.264 and press Save.

4.       Check the box beside the first extension to be configured (e.g. ext. 103) and click Edit.

5.       In the General Settings enter the desired Display Name (e.g. Touchscreen1) and press Save. The Display Name will be used for Caller Id purposes. It is not necessary to reboot the phone now.

6.       To configure the SIP registration settings for the IP phones, touchscreens and door stations:

a.       From the Edit extension, General Settings click on Go to Line Settings to configure the SIP settings for the device.

b.      Set the Phone Model to Other for touchscreens and door stations.

c.       For supported IP Phones, choose the Phone Model from the dropdown and enter the MAC Address of the IP Phone.

d.      Enter the device SIP Registration Username. You can use the default or set your own.

e.       Enter the Registration Password by creating your own or preferably, click on Generate Password and select one. CRITICAL NOTE: Make a note of the Username and Password as they will be needed when configuring the touchscreen and door stations.

f.        For IP phones, reset the phone to factory default to complete the configuration.

g.      Repeat the above listed steps for each IP phone, touchscreen and door station that will be connecting to the Epygi IP PBX.

Create a Ring Group

1.       From the Dashboard menu click Extensions, Extensions to go to the Extensions Management menu.

2.       Click Add and add a new extension number (e.g. extension 400), leave the Type set to User Extension. Press Save. In the General Settings enter the Display Name of Ring Group (or other desired name), and click Save. Press Go Back to return to the General Settings.

3.       Click Go To User Settings and then select Caller ID Services. Click Any Address and then select Many Extension Ringing to define the ring group.

4.       Check the boxes beside each extension (IP Phones and Touchscreens) that will be included in the ring group and click Enable/Disable. Click Enable Service and press Save to activate the MER option. CRITICAL NOTE: DO NOT CHECK THE BOXES FOR ANY DOOR STATIONS.

Configuring the Epygi QX IP PBX for use with Leviton OmniTouch 7 Touchscreens

and Helios 2N Door Stations

Introduction:

The Leviton home automation solution, featuring the powerful OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen device, can be configured with an Epygi IP PBX to offer paging and door station control when used with a door station, such as the 2N Helios IP Force.

Requirements:

The following components are required:

  1. Epygi QX IP PBX: QX200 IP PBX (QX50 and QX2000 are also compatible) software version 6.1.5 or higher.
  2.  The Leviton OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen using software version 1.14 or higher.
  3. For configuring the Leviton devices Dealer PC Access using software version 3.15.0.803 or higher.
  4. Omni pro II using software version 3.14A or higher.
  5. 2N Helios IP Force door station using software version: 1.13.1.288.3NOTE: A software license key is required to enable the HTTP API interface to allow the door relay to be operated from the OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen.

Configuring the Epygi IP PBX:

Since the Epygi has a built-in firewall and DHCP server the system has a WAN port as well as a LAN port. The WAN port can be used to connect to an existing private network or even to a public network. By default, the WAN port will receive an IP address if connected to a local network with a DHCP server. The LAN port can be used as the DHCP server for the network. By default, the LAN DHCP server will be disabled. 

In this configuration guide, the details provided are for a network that has an existing router that will also be the DHCP server on the network. The Epygi IP PBX, the 2N Helios door station and the Leviton OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen will all be connected to have an IP from the network DHCP server. See figure 1 for the network configuration.

The Epygi IP PBX WAN port can also be connected directly to the internet and serve as the DHCP server for the local network (Figure 2). In this case the OmniTouch 7 Touchscreen, doorstation and IP phones would be connected to the Epygi IP PBX LAN port.

To connect to the LAN IP address of the system (172.30.0.1) you will need to set a static IP address on your PC to be in the same subnet (e.g. 172.30.0.100):

  1. Using a standard network patch cable, connect the Epygi WAN to the local network.
  2. Using a second network patch cable, connect the PC being using to configure the system to the LAN port of the Epygi.
  3. Change the PC’s ethernet adapter settings to have a static IP address (e.g. 172.30.0.100) to be in the same subnet as the Epygi.
  4. Open a browser and connect to the Epygi LAN using 172.30.0.1.

      5.       Enter the default Username (admin) and Password (19) and click Log In.

      6.       Click Setup -Basic Setup and select System (LAN) to start the System Configuration Wizard.

a.       If needed, change the LAN IP address or leave at the default of 172.30.0.1 and enable the DHCP server to provide IP addresses on the LAN. Enabling the DHCP server would be needed for the optional configuration, Figure 2.


     b.      Click Finish to begin making the changes and initializing the rollback feature. When complete a Confirm Settings page will appear- click on Ok. If you changed the IP address of the LAN port, you will not see the confirmation page until you reconnect using the new IP. You have 20 minutes to confirm the settings or it will roll back to the previous settings

7.       Before configuring the WAN IP you can check to see if the system has already received an IP by going to the StatusSystem StatusNetwork menu. The settings displayed may be helpful before proceeding to the next steps of assigning a static IP. Click Setup -Basic Setup and select Internet (WAN) to start the Internet Configuration Wizard.

a.       Assign the system WAN port to a static IP address, subnet mask and default gateway. The fixed name server (DNS server) is only needed if a DNS server is available for the network.

b.      Click Finish to finalize the changes

c.       At this point you would be able to login to the Epygi by connecting via the WAN or LAN IP address after resetting your PC adapter connection settings back to DHCP.

1.8. Will the Grandstream SIP Server work in the Omnitouch 7 Intercom App

Customers have attempted to use the Grandstream SIP server for the Omnitouch7 intercom application. While voice transmission has been possible, unresolved video problems exist and the use of the Grandstream is not viable at this time.
